After long periods of exposure to stressful, potentially life-
threatening work conditions and traumatic loss, healthcare workers (HCWs) can experience stress-related symptoms that seriously impact their well-being and lead to professional burnout.
Our study uses MDMA-assisted therapy to treat stress- related disorders in HCWs affected by their work on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City. This single-site, open-label study assesses the effectiveness and safety of a 2-dose protocol in reducing symptoms of subsyndromal or mild Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and professional burnout in HCWs.
