Covid Study Recruitment

Are you a NYC healthcare worker suffering with stress and burnout?

If so, you may be eligible for MDMA-assisted therapy

As your city moves on from the COVID-19 pandemic, many of its heroes have been left behind

After long periods of exposure to stressful, potentially life-

threatening work conditions and traumatic loss, healthcare workers (HCWs) can experience stress-related symptoms that seriously impact their well-being and lead to professional burnout.

Our study uses MDMA-assisted therapy to treat stress- related disorders in HCWs affected by their work on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City. This single-site, open-label study assesses the effectiveness and safety of a 2-dose protocol in reducing symptoms of subsyndromal or mild Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and professional burnout in HCWs.

Participants will receive:

  • Medical screening, blood tests, ECG.
  • Psychiatric screening
  • 30 hours of psychotherapy, consisting of 14 hours of non-drug therapy along with 2 all-day (8-hour) drug-assisted therapy sessions. The average length of treatment is 10 weeks.
